RPVOT
Definition:
RPVOT (Rotary Pressure Vessel Oxidation Test) measures the oxidation stability of a turbine oil. The sample is placed in a vessel that contains a polished copper coil. The vessel is then charged with oxygen then placed in a bath at a constant temperature of 150°C. Oxidation stability is expressed in terms of the time required to achieve a 25.4 psig pressure drop from maximum pressure.
