Fat % By FTIR
Definition:
Fat % By FTIR measures the concentration of fat found in a metalworking fluid by Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectrometry. Fats are identified in the mid-FTIR spectral region for carbonylic (C=O) compounds, around 1750 cm-1. The amount of infrared energy absorbed in this spectral region is converted to fat concentration percent.
