POLARIS Laboratories® — Edmonton Triples Sample Volume, Adds Second Shift
Edmonton, AB, Canada — Since opening in August, 2008, POLARIS Laboratories® in Edmonton, AB, has been exceeding company expectations in both performance and growth by processing three times the sample volume it was generating at the end of last year. The 4,000 square foot laboratory has recently added a second shift to accommodate the increase in production.
POLARIS Laboratories® CEO Bryan Debshaw said that Canada's strength in the oil and gas, mining, construction and transportation industries was a major factor in the company's initial decision to expand internationally. Pleased with the facility's performance, Debshaw and the company's three founding partners had expected immediate growth from its inception.
“Companies in the oil and gas, mining, construction and transportation industries have been using our tools to manage maintenance costs for more than 10 years and our U.S. operations have experienced double-digit growth in nine of those 10,” Debshaw said. “Now, more than ever, companies are looking to reduce maintenance costs and extend equipment life and that's what we do. We offer quality test results with innovative data management solutions, training and extensive field services - at a very competitive price.”
Debshaw added that high interest in the new facility among prospective customers has increased the demand for training. As a result, POLARIS Laboratories® will offer public classes on oil and coolant analysis in Edmonton in both early spring and in the fall of 2010.
