Officer Biographies

POLARIS Laboratories® was formed by a unique group of individuals whose vast experience and expertise in the industry created a company focused on results. In early 1999, POLARIS Laboratories® opened a state-of-the-art facility with the best instrumentation available. Today, the company has grown exponentially - both in people and production - and is analyzing fluid samples from companies throughout North America and around the world. “It's not just fluid analysis. It's what we do with it” is more than a slogan for this team; it's their underlying belief that sets POLARIS Laboratories® and its individuals apart.

Officers

Bryan Debshaw, Chief Executive Officer

Bryan Debshaw, Chief Executive Officer, brings over 25 years of entrepreneurial and business management experience to the POLARIS Laboratories® senior management team. Mark Minges, CLS, Chief Operating Officer

Mark Minges, Chief Operating Officer, has more than 35 years of experience in the oil analysis industry complemented by over two decades working hands-on with multiple heavy-duty equipment applications including off-shore drilling, well servicing and his own Class-8 trucking fleet.

Mark Minges

Minges' technical expertise in data analysis and interpretation has been vital in placing POLARIS Laboratories® at the forefront of the oil analysis industry. He, along with POLARIS Laboratories® colleague Don Woods, developed the industry's first auto-commenting system and equipment standards tables. Accredited by the Society of Tribology and Lubrication Technology as a Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS) and Oil Monitoring Analyst II (OMA II), Minges has remained active in several professional organizations throughout his career. He currently holds memberships in STLE, the Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP), the Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the American Trucking Association (ATA), the Technology Maintenance Council (TMC) and the American Petroleum Institute (API).

Don Woods, Chief Information Officer

Don Woods, Chief Information Officer, is a pioneer of information technology systems integration specific to the oil analysis industry. At the onset of his career in 1980, his expertise in designing laboratory information management systems (LIMS) soon produced the industry's first software-based data evaluation, flagging and reporting system. The system today utilizes a three-stage process for evaluating test results, ordering re-runs and applying comments and flags. This three-tiered approach is designed to drastically reduce analyst errors when dealing with hundreds of samples a day in dozens of highly customized testing programs.

Don Woods

The LIMS concept has also provided the foundation for an extremely successful “one-laboratory, multiple locations” business model that POLARIS Laboratories® has proven to be extremely efficient. Tying each POLARIS Laboratories® testing facility to a single database has consolidated core customer service and data analysis functions to provide customers the convenience of testing at the POLARIS Laboratories® facility closest to them or with multiple POLARIS Laboratories® facilities across North America with 24-hour internet access to all of their data through one database.

Woods holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Technology from Purdue University, Lafayette, Indiana.

Jeff White, Chief Science Officer

Jeff White, Chief Science Officer, has more than 25 years experience in laboratory testing, production and management. At the Kentucky Center for Energy and Research, White spent 2 years developing applied methods for coal liquification. With the Remote Bar Coding Facilities Research and Development Site for the U.S. Postal Service, White's primary focus was quality, accuracy and turnaround time.

Jeff White

This knowledge and experience has provided the fundamental framework for the POLARIS Laboratories® Quality System and is the backbone of POLARIS Laboratories®' consecutive ISO 17025 A2LA accreditations since 2003. ISO 17025 is the highest industry standard for testing laboratories and A2LA the most stringent accrediting body. Each of POLARIS Laboratories®' North American facilities is ISO 17025 A2LA accredited for every test each offers. White is a member of ASTM's DO2 Committee and is trained in Total Quality Management (TQM), Statistical Process Control (SPC), ISO 9000 and 17025, HazMat and OSHA.

White holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kentucky, Louisville.
